Radiant Systems Deploys High-Performance Fuel Controller at Busiest Sheetz Stores
Tiger Fuel Controller boosts performance at sites with high volumes and complex pay-at-pump transactions
ATLANTA (Nov. 16, 2005) — Radiant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RADS) announces the deployment of a new-generation fueling technology, the Tiger Fuel Controller, at high-volume Sheetz locations in Altoona, PA and Raleigh, NC. Sheetz selected the Tiger Fuel Controller for its demonstrated advancement in performance of complex and high-volume pay-at-pump transactions.
“We chose to deploy the Tiger Fuel Controller because it clearly supports our goal of providing faster and more convenient service to our customers,” said John Moulton, director of store systems, Sheetz, Inc. “We are pleased with the faster customer throughput that we are measuring at the pump since installing the device.”
The Tiger Fuel Controller was first installed in Malaysia last year, where new credit card encryption standards were causing legacy fuel controllers to slow down transaction speed and associated customer throughput. Today the Tiger is also speeding transactions in the U.S. market, where high-volume sites and complex pay-at-pump transactions with multiple card reads are straining the legacy infrastructure of older dispenser technologies.
“The Tiger Fuel Controller is able to improve the performance of almost any busy pay-at-pump site without the need to replace the legacy wiring or dispensers,” said Mark Schoen, president of Radiant’s global petroleum and convenience retail division. “The Tiger is the first technology built for the explosive growth in self-service, loyalty and other marketing programs taking place at the dispenser that the industry is experiencing on a global scale.”
The Tiger Fuel Controller connects point-of-sale systems to fuel dispensers, island card readers, outdoor payment terminals and other fuel island equipment. Using the latest technology for unprecedented performance, the Tiger drives all major models of dispensers and island card readers including 100 percent compatibility with existing equipment.
