Abuelo's Raises the Bar with Technology from Radiant Systems
Acclaimed restaurant operator invests to improve customer service and employee satisfaction
ATLANTA (September 12, 2006)—Building on a successful track record of delivering innovative, easy-to-use technology to the hospitality and retail industries, Radiant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RADS) and Texas Cash Register, a Radiant Elite channel partner, announce the deployment of Aloha TableService Point-of-Sale (POS) and Radiant hardware in Abuelo’s Mexican Food Embassy. Abuelo’s, a brand of Food Concepts International, LP, will use the end-to-end restaurant solution to further its tradition of superior customer service and commitment to employee satisfaction.
Rated the Best Mexican Food Restaurant in North America by a leading consumer magazine, Abuelo’s has implemented the Aloha TableService Point-of-Sale (POS), Aloha Enterprise reporting and the Aloha eCard gift card application in its 36 current locations and plans to continue using Aloha for all future stores. The Radiant P1510 POS terminal will also be rolled out in all new locations and as an upgrade to aging equipment in existing sites.
Abuelo’s selected Radiant’s technology in part to support future expansion—both in number of restaurant locations and in technology features needed to address new customer demands and competitive pressures. “Radiant Systems, through its partnership with Texas Cash Register, is pleased to offer Abuelo’s the level of service and reliability required to effectively operate a growing, upscale-casual restaurant business. The Radiant solution will benefit Abuelo’s by improving their ability to deliver a very positive and consistent guest experience at every restaurant even as they continue to expand the number of locations,” said Paul Langenbahn, vice president of channel sales and operations for the Radiant Hospitality Division.
In addition to a comprehensive technology solution, Abuelo’s sought a technology provider that could drive an efficient implementation and ensure a trouble-free ramp-up to a new system. The company found these capabilities and more with Radiant channel partner, Texas Cash Register. “Texas Cash Register’s depth of knowledge, breadth of services and ability to respond to our needs quickly made for a smooth rollout and transition to the Aloha system,” said Greg Baker, director of information technology for Food Concepts International, LP.
Aloha TableService Point-of-Sale (POS) – Quick and Efficient
With Aloha TableService, it's easier than ever to enter orders, manage guest checks, run promotions and process payments. Whether printing individual, combined or split checks, modifying orders or transferring tables, Aloha TableService makes it quick and efficient. And with extensive front-of-house reporting, managers can spend more time with customers while still keeping up with restaurant and server performance. The solution's modular, upgradeable design allows it to grow with Abuelo’s business, accommodating their future needs while helping maximize the life and value of their investment.
Aloha Enterprise Reporting and Systems Management – “Anytime-Anywhere”
With Aloha Enterprise.com, Abuelo’s has a simple yet comprehensive approach to enterprise reporting and systems management. Through custom reports, business alerts, and multi-store consolidated reports, Aloha Enterprise.com delivers the relevant, timely information required to react quickly to any change in performance or operations. “Anytime-Anywhere” access to Aloha Enterprise.com via the Internet allows Abuelo’s to view restaurant performance and take action remotely without the need to be on site.
Aloha eCard – Increase Store Traffic
Aloha eCard, a Web-based ASP gift card application, reduces the time and manpower needed to manage the gift card process, while boosting sales and increasing store traffic. Aloha eCard is fully integrated with gift card sales and redemption, so that all transactions are performed through the standard POS interface. The system also is integrated with guest receipts and provides a full complement of back-of-house and front-of-house reports. Card denominations are predetermined or flexible. Cards are activated at time of purchase and their value decreases as they are used.
Radiant P1510 Hardware Terminals – “Non-Stop Sales Reliability”
Hardware terminals used in the fast-casual environment must withstand high transaction volume, continuous operation and contaminants such as food, grease and dirt. Radiant has equipped Abuelo’s with P1510 POS hardware terminals and a commitment to "Non-Stop Sales Reliability" in the harshest foodservice environments.
