Radiant Point of Sale and BlueCube Enterprise Committed at More Than 3,000 Convenience Retail Sites
Software providers affirm commitment to maintaining open interfaces to best-of-breed applications
(October 3, 2006) — Radiant Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RADS) and the Retail Productivity Solutions division of RedPrairie (formerly BlueCube Software), announced today that leading retailers in the convenience and petroleum retail industry have committed to installing a technology solution consisting of Radiant Point of Sale and BlueCube Enterprise at more than 3,000 retail locations.
Both Radiant and RedPrairie have embraced a strategy of maintaining open interfaces to their applications, allowing retailers the opportunity to choose the store and headquarters solution that best matches their business needs. By utilizing the Internet to link the companies’ respective POS and back office applications, petroleum and convenience retailers choosing the combination have unparalleled remote access to essential management and control functions in their stores.
“The success of these combined applications shows that convenience retailers have found a best-of-breed approach that provides superior business value for their stores,” said Kevin Saum, vice president of petroleum and convenience stores for RedPrairie’s Retail Productivity Solutions division. “We are committed to supporting interfaces to leading point-of-sale applications that meet the needs of this unique industry.”
“Radiant continues to see success offering our customers interfaces to industry-leading back office applications,” said Mark Schoen, president of Radiant’s global petroleum and convenience retail division. “Reaching 3,000 committed locations with BlueCube shows the positive reaction retailers have shown to this approach.”
