Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit Chooses Radiant Systems Point-of-Sale Technology

World’s most sophisticated motorsport venue implements Aloha software and P1520 hardware

When Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi needed point-of-sale hardware terminals for its inaugural 2009 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix last October, it turned to Radiant Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: RADS). The system worked so well that it has now been selected for the second time for the 2010 event in November after the successful implementation of 134 P1520 terminals running Aloha POS software at the new motorsport venue located in the United Arab Emirates.

“The Aloha point-of-sale solution from Radiant and the excellent service from Professional Solutions, Radiant’s master reseller for the Middle East, contributed to the success of the opening event,” said Mario Zambas, director of information technology for Abu Dhabi Motorsports Management LLC (“ADMM”). “The Radiant solution ensured that we were able to give a high level of customer service at all our outlets during the event.”

Professional Solutions Co. Ltd. has implemented the solution, which went live in ADMM’s outlets prior to last year’s Grand Prix and ran smoothly throughout the three days of auto racing. Employees easily adapted to the Aloha software’s user-friendly graphical interface, placing guest orders quickly and accurately. Serving the demands of around 50,000 spectators, Aloha Quick Service POS helped the venue ensure fast and consistent service for guests throughout the circuit’s covered grandstands and VIP facilities. Not only did concession operations run efficiently with the solution, but management had better control looking at the timely reports of sales, operations and inventory. In addition to the annual Grand Prix race, Yas Marina Circuit hosts around 80 sporting and corporate events throughout the year.

“It was exciting to see our systems at work at the first race in one of the world’s premier auto racing venues,” said Paul Grayling, vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa at Radiant Systems. “Our industry-leading functionality combined with Professional Solutions’ world-class service and support has made Aloha the benchmark of excellence for POS technology in the Middle East.”

“The introduction of Aloha in 2004 has started a new era in POS technology in our region,” said Wael Mousa, general manager of Professional Solutions. "The solution's flexible configuration, ease of use, exceptional reliability and robust integration capabilities make it a highly effective and adaptable system for the companies in our region, where localization, scalability and reducing the need for training and support are crucial factors.”

Since establishing its relationship with Radiant Systems in 2004, Professional Solutions has deployed more than 6,000 terminals across more than 2,000 sites in markets including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Bahrain and Turkey.
